Visiting Student Audition Rotation Program
Thank you for your interest in the Visiting Students Audition Rotation Program with the Mobile Infirmary Internal Medicine Residency Program! This program is an opportunity for fourth-year medical students to participate in an array of elective clinical rotations that foster the growth of medical knowledge through direct patient care experiences.
Before submitting an application for a visiting student audition rotation, please carefully review the information below.
Qualifications
- Fourth-year medical student in good standing at an accredited U.S. allopathic or osteopathic medical school
- Students must have completed all core clerkships
- Students must have successfully passed USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1
- Two Letter of Recommendations
*Note: Participation in a visiting student audition rotation does not guarantee an invitation for a residency program interview. Invitations to interview are provided at the discretion of Mobile Internal Medicine Residency program.
Internal Medicine Residency Program Requirements

Proof of Health Insurance
- Must be current and active through the duration of the rotation
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)

Affiliation Agreement
- Confirm that your institution has an established affiliation agreement with Mobile Infirmary Medical Center; if your institution does not have an affiliation agreement, you will need to notify LaTasha Williams, C-TAGME, immediately at Moobile.IMResidency@infirmaryhealth.org, and provide the contact details for the person at your institution responsible for setting up fourth year rotations.

USMLE/COMLEX Scores
- NBME Score report must be submitted with application.
- Copy of Professional Malpractice/Medical Liability Insurance Coverage
- A copy of Driver’s License or Government Issued Identification
- A copy of your immunization records
- Provide proof of a current TB test – completed in the last year
- Provide proof of a current flu shot
- Provide proof of results of a negative 10-panel drug screen

Provide proof of a background screen that includes:
- 7-year Criminal History for each County of Residence
- National Sex Offender Registry
- Social Security Verification
- Residence History
- National Healthcare Fraud & Abuse Scan (OIG, GSA, state and federal Medicare and Medicaid exclusions lists)
- A headshot taken in front of a blank space
Certificate of Professional Malpractice/Medical Liability Insurance Coverage
- Students are required to have standard malpractice/liability coverage of at least $1 million per instance and $3 million aggregate to be eligible for the visiting student audition rotation.

Two Letter(s) of recommendation
- Letters of recommendation should be written by a physician with whom you have worked with that is familiar with your clinical abilities and career goals

Visiting Students Audition Rotations are 4 weeks in length, the rotation begins on a Monday and concludes 4 weeks later on a Friday in full week increments (excluding holidays).
*Note: Once rotations have been confirmed, changes in or rescheduling assignments are not permitted.
Submission
Submit completed application with required documentation by the deadlines indicated in the academic year timeline. The residency program office will begin reviewing applications and promptly make decisions on the first of the month following the application deadline.
*Note: Applications received after the submission deadline may not be reviewed by the residency program office.
Acceptance
- Students accepted for a visiting student audition rotation will be notified via email from the residency program office and must successfully complete all post-acceptance requirements and adhere to all Mobile Infirmary Medical Center policies, including, but not limited to background checks, immunizations, and required documentation.

Post Acceptance Documentation includes:
- Completed Student Intake Form
- Review of Student Orientation Manual and submit completed I Heard and Read form
- Review Infirmary Health System (IHS) Corporate Integrity Agreement (CIA) and submit completed Ineligibility Certification (IA) Form
- Signed Acknowledgment Form
Failure to complete or adhere to any post-acceptance requirements will result in the cancellation of the audition rotation.
