About Joann

With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare administration and academia, JoAnn Wood, MD serves as director of the Mobile Infirmary Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Wood earned her MD from the University of Louisville where she also completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency. She completed a fellowship in academic general internal medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She completed a Master of Science degree in Medical Education at the University of Southern California and a Master of Healthcare Administration at the University of Minnesota. She also completed the Intermountain Advanced Training Program in Health Care Delivery and Improvement. Dr. Wood is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
