- Ultrasound
- Our ultrasound department is staffed with highly skilled registered diagnostic medical sonographers. Ultrasonogram is performed by using specialized equipment that emits high frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of the inside of the body. Our friendly, personable sonographers delight in participating in our patients’ medical care needs, whether obstetric or gynecologic.
- Bone Density
- Bone Densitometry is an enhanced form of x-ray technology that is used to measure bone loss. Also known as a Bone Mineral Density (BMD) or DEXA scan, this noninvasive test can determine the risk for osteopenia and osteoporosis in the postmenopausal patient. Bone Density is conveniently tested in our office.
- Endometriosis

- Hysterectomy
- A hysterectomy is a surgery to remove the uterus. Pelvic pain, heavy or abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids, endometriosis, and pelvic organ prolapse are just a few of the reasons that women have this common procedure performed. There are many approaches to hysterectomy including robotic, vaginal, and abdominal. The physicians at Mobile Bay ObGyn Center understand the importance of assessing your needs and determining the best route of hysterectomy. - Menopause
Menopause is the time in a woman’s life when she stops having menstrual cycles, signaling the end of her reproductive years. The years leading up to menopause, perimenopause, can be characterized for some patients by hot flashes, sleep disturbances, mood changes, vaginal dryness, and many more. It is important to discuss these changes with your doctor and protect against the risks that occur during this time: bone loss and increased risk of heart disease.

Hormone Therapy
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT), also called estrogen therapy, can help relieve the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. If you have not had a hysterectomy, another medication, progestin, will be added to protect your uterus.
Estrogen can be given in many different forms. Systemic (treating the entire body) forms include pills, skin patches, gels, and sprays. It is beneficial at reducing and/or relieving hot flashes and night sweats, protecting against bone loss, and may even reduce the risk of colon cancer. If vaginal dryness is predominant, then local estrogen via cream, ring, or suppository may be the best option. At Mobile Bay OB-GYN Center, we are dedicated to finding and prescribing the treatment plan that works best for you.
