The Thomas Hospital Auxiliary is seeking students to participate in their junior volunteer program this summer.

This opportunity is offered to high school students between the ages 14 to 17 with at least a 3.0 grade point average who have an interest in volunteering at Thomas Hospital. The goals of the program are to give service to the hospital, increase community understanding and interest in the hospital, and further interest in health careers. Participants are asked to complete a health screening, attend an orientation class, and then volunteer four hours per week between June 2 and July 25. Online applications must be completed, and all required documentation must be submitted by WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9. Applications will not be accepted after this date. The number of openings for this program is limited, so students are strongly encouraged to apply early. The Thomas Hospital Auxiliary offers health career scholarships to Baldwin County residents pursuing degrees in healthcare.

To be considered, applicants must be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university as juniors or seniors pursuing a bachelor’s degree or in the last year of an associate degree program. Undergraduate students must provide official documentation of full-time enrollment from their schools.

Graduate and medical school students are also eligible for this scholarship after they have completed their undergraduate studies and been accepted into a health career program. Acceptance letters into a health career program must be provided. Selection of the scholarship recipients is based on the applicants’ grades, financial need, and community involvement.

The online application must be completed, and all required documentation must be submitted by Friday, April 11. The completed online application, official documentation of enrollment status, official transcripts from all colleges attended to the present time, acceptance letter into a healthcare program, a brief personal essay, professional and personal reference letters, and photo of applicant are required by Friday, April 11.
