Infirmary Cancer Care celebrates opening of new infusion center at the Malbis Medical Office Building

Infirmary Health and Infirmary Cancer Care officially cut the ribbon on the newest infusion center for patient care in Baldwin County. With the addition of the oncology offices at the Malbis Medical Office Building on Highway 90 in Daphne, Infirmary Health now expands to five cancer care facilities in Mobile and Baldwin Counties.

Five years ago, Infirmary Health embarked on developing a multi-disciplinary cancer care program, to include the best oncology experts treating multiple types of cancer with state-of-the-art treatment options, close to home for the patients we serve.

In this 10,000-square-foot facility, four medical oncologists and three advanced practice providers work together alongside cancer pharmacists, oncology nurses, an in-house lab team and other support staff. Additionally, physicians participate in 17 multi-disciplinary Tumor Boards jointly with UAB O’Neal Cancer Center.

The facility offers patients 10 Infusion chairs for cancer-related treatments as well as six clinic rooms for various services, including chemotherapy, immune therapy, certain cellular therapies and monoclonal antibody therapy/biologic therapy.

This newly designed facility allows Infirmary Cancer Care to provide many services to patients, including:

  • New consultation for cancer and blood disorders
  • Cancer surgery consultations
  • Imaging (CT, MRI, Ultrasound)
  • Precision cancer therapy
  • Genetic testing and counseling
  • Comprehensive laboratory services
  • Clinical trials and therapy
  • Cancer navigation and nutritional services
  • 2nd opinion tele-visits with UAB cancer experts at O’Neal Cancer Center
  • Social services, financial counseling and support for cancer patients
