Infirmary Health is celebrating the completion of renovations for The Breast Center at Mobile Infirmary with an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, May 25 from 4 – 6 p.m. Located at 1720 Springhill Avenue in Mobile, the $440,000 renovation updated and expanded the facilities, providing an enhanced patient experience. Through an additional investment of $350,000 in 3D mammography and 3D biopsy equipment, Mobile Infirmary is continuing to expand patient access to cutting edge technology, improving early detection and enhancing treatment options and outcomes for breast cancer.
The renovation and technology upgrades have been supported by the generous efforts of the Infirmary Foundation. Their “Think Pink” campaign and Celebrate Life luncheon this spring raised nearly $500,000 for the project. The Infirmary Foundation has raised more than $28 million since 1984, ensuring that Mobile Infirmary has the resources it needs to provide world class care to its patients.
The Breast Center at Mobile Infirmary offers 2D and 3D mammography, diagnostic ultrasound, ultrasound guided breast biopsies, 3D stereotactic breast biopsies, advanced breast ultrasound screening, 1.5 T high field breast MRI, 1.5 T high field breast biopsy and 3.0 T magnet MRI. Their comprehensive team of providers includes high-risk breast cancer assessment and breast health navigators.
