September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. Michael Holland, D.O., a board-certified family medicine physician with Infirmary Medical Clinics sat down with Lenise Ligon during Fox10 News's Making Rounds segments. They discussed screening, awareness, risk factors and more.
"As your primary care physician, we want to talk to you about this," Dr. Holland said, regarding symptoms and risk factors. "We want you to be aware of your body."
- Screening: 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime
- Awareness: It is the second-most common cancer in American men
- Risk Factors: Infirmary Health and Infirmary Cancer Care encourage men to use this month as a reminder to schedule an annual physical with their primary care physician. Talk to them about genetic history and see what steps you can take to lower your risk.
Schedule an appointment with Dr. Holland or visit InfirmaryHealth.org/Doctors to find a physician near you.
