Thomas Hospital only hospital in the Gulf Coast Region to be ranked as High Performing for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report

Thomas Hospital, an affiliate of Infirmary Health, has earned recognition as High Performing for Maternity Care by U.S. News & World Report in its 2024-2025 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings. Thomas Hospital is the only hospital in the Gulf Coast Region to receive this recognition. Thomas Hospital continues to deliver the most babies of any hospital in Baldwin County.

Thomas Hospital was also recognized as High Performing by U.S. News & World Report in its 2024-25 Best Hospitals rankings and ratings for Heart Attack and Heart Failure. Thomas Hospital operates the only open-heart surgery program in Baldwin County. Additionally, it boasts the county’s only Commission on Cancer Accredited cancer program, Infirmary Cancer Care, with surgical, radiation, and medical oncology. Thomas Hospital is also home to Colony Rehabilitation Hospital, a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities accredited facility, which provides inpatient rehabilitation care for patients.
To help patients begin their search for care, U.S. News generates hospital rankings by evaluating data on nearly 5,000 hospitals. According to U.S. News, a hospital highly ranked in maternity care must excel in caring for pregnant women in a variety of circumstances to be nationally ranked.
