Infirmary Health welcomes gastroenterologist, Jonathan Francis, MD

Jonathan Francis, MD, fellowship trained and board-certified gastroenterologist, joins Gulf Coast Gastroenterology. As a gastroenterologist, he specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of the digestive tract (esophagus, stomach, and intestines). He uses surgical and non-surgical treatment methods for common diseases such as acid reflux, difficulty swallowing, peptic ulcers, constipation, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, and colon cancer screenings. Additionally, Dr. Francis will conduct exploratory and therapeutic procedures.

Dr. Francis is a graduate of Spring Hill College. He received a doctor of medicine degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Dr. Francis completed a residency in internal medicine at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He is board-certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

Dr. Francis is a veteran of the United States Army. He separated as a Lieutenant Colonel, and he served as a medical corps leader at Madigan Army Medical Center in Fort Lewis, Washington and Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
