Infirmary Health is proud to highlight the achievements of our Thomas Hospital Internal Medicine Residents, who made a significant impact at the 2025 Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) Southern Regional Meeting. Drs. Ojeda, Vasquez, Roseberry, Shrestha, Ubokudom, and Jumbo presented insightful posters on a range of important topics, including:
- Diagnosis and Management of Severe DRESS Syndrome
- Hepatosplenic Sarcoidosis
- A Well-Differentiated Endocrine Tumor
- Cranial Radiation-Induced Atrial Fibrillation
- AV Fistulas as a Cause of Heart Failure
- Gastroparesis in the Setting of Tirzepatide Use
Additionally, Dr. Daren Scroggie, Assistant Program Director (APD), was invited to speak at the Pre-Course on AI in Medicine, showcasing his expertise in this rapidly growing field. Dr. Pursley, also APD, contributed to the meeting by serving on the SGIM Planning Committee, alongside academic colleagues from across the Southern U.S. She also moderated both the Arts and Humanities session and the Roundtable on Women in Medicine.
These accomplishments highlight the dedication and excellence of our residents and faculty, who continue to advance the field of medicine while representing Thomas Hospital with pride.
