Vascular Rehabilitation
Infirmary Health’s Operation Circulation Vascular Rehabilitation Program
Operation Circulation, a vascular rehabilitation program for patients with circulation disorders, is located in the ProHealth Fitness and Rehabilitation Center.
Participation in the program usually begins two to four weeks after diagnosis of a vascular problem. Entrance into the program is by physician referral. To be considered patients must have experienced:
- Claudication (cramping in the lower leg caused by blocked arteries).
- PVD (peripheral vascular disease).
- Vascular surgery.
- Post-op intravascular intervention.
- Stents.
- Angioplasty.
Exercise sessions consist of a walk/rest interval program to train leg muscles to work more efficiently. This allows patients to walk longer without pain. Our indoor track and treadmills provide a safe, monitored environment to help improve quality of life. All exercise prescriptions are individualized to meet each patient’s needs. Monitored exercise classes are offered three times a week.
