Nurse Apprenticeship Program

First of its kind in Alabama:

A feeder program from Nursing Assistant (NA) to Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to Registered Nurse (RN).

Infirmary Health is the first healthcare system in the region to offer a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Apprenticeship Program in partnership with Coastal Alabama Community College. The RN and LPN Apprenticeship program, funded by the Infirmary Foundation, provides eligible students with the ability to work and receive compensation while advancing their education. Upon graduating from the program, students are able to join the Infirmary Health team as a full-time staff member and will have the hands-on experience needed to succeed in their nursing career.

Program Requirements and Benefits:

• Students must meet all the requirements of Coastal Alabama Community College
• On-the-job learning plus classroom instruction and education
• One-on-one, in-hospital training with an Infirmary Health LPN or RN
• Wage increases as students advance through the program each semester
• 360 clinical hours (52 competencies)
• 45 practicum hours
• Students receive industry-recognized credentials (certification/license) upon receiving a passing score on the NCLEX
